Volunteering with Hibiscus

The aim of Hibiscus is to provide all round, specialised support and advocacy to foreign national women in prison. We know that maintaining family ties is extremely important and we encourage women to build their relationships whilst in prison as this increases considerably their rehabilitation success.

We are currently recruiting volunteer / befrienders to visit foreign national and BME women in prison. Good opportunities to develop communication and listening skills. Knowledge of another language is an advantage but not essential.

We would especially like to hear from applicants who live locally to HMP Downview in Sutton, Surrey, HMP Drake Hall in Stafford and HMP Eastwood Park in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.

FPWP/Hibiscus offers training opportunities locally or in London and travel reimbursement.

If you would like to volunteer for Hibiscus and are prepared to give your time on a regular basis, please download the application form and either email it to our volunteer co-ordinator Vanna Derosas at vannad_fpwp@btconnect.com
or send it by post to:
